Dice Football began more than 10 years ago when Paul made up the game to help his young daughter enhance her math skills. This game has evolved over time with Paul's childhood friend Joe bringing new ideas to make what is now called Dice Football League, the game.

The games are played quickly, which led to the idea of forming a league and playing an entire schedule. Hence the present name Dice Football League (DFL).

Most games today require an engineering degree to assemble and a Master's degree to understand. DFL requires strategy but is easy to play, especially if you understand the concept of football.

The game dice and the overtime die are custom made with specific football numbers, with the number 7 being the only number that appears twice on the game die. The strategy of trying to negate your opponents score (called a defensive stop or challenge) by rolling the same number they roll for a particular quarter, puts a twist on the game that leaves you second guessing yourself every time you make a wrong decision.

If the game goes into overtime, there is another die that is used with only three different numbers. If the game is tied after the first overtime, the game goes into sudden death, so winning the coin toss gives you a distinct advantage.

The daughter that Paul originally made the game to help is now a junior in college and Joe's oldest daughter now a freshman in college have both introduced the game to their friends at school. Their friends have brought the games to other colleges around the country and DFL is gathering momentum by word of mouth.

DFL is truly a game for all ages and both genders, Paul and Joe have 7 daughters between them. All 7 girls play with friends and with each other.

Paul and Joe are in their second DFL season, along with six other "owners" who have shares in a 32 team league. Each "owner" controls 4 teams. The ages of each owner and their partners range from 24 to 52 years old. The group meets five times from September thru January to complete the schedule, including playoffs and the DFL Championship game. A championship trophy is awarded to the owner, engraved with final score and owner's name. It has become a two hour social event each time they meet, although their competitiveness comes out during each game.

DFL is now available for sale to you and your family. Discover what the fun is all about!
